#atozchallenge – D is for Div, a terrible foe

Divs brought terror to ancient Persia.

Divs (or daeva) were the demons of the ancient middle-east, personifying the evil of men. Most notorious of these horrid beings was Div-e Sepid, a strong and powerful being who wielded sorcery and necromancy to take out entire armies. Only the great Persian hero Rostam was able to slay this horrid thing, after a great, epic quest of 7 labours.

When seeing the sights of the modern middle east, take care not to stir the wrath of any divs lingering in the caves and shadows.
