#Inkshares Preview #27 – The Seventh Age: Dawn by Rick Heinz (@crankybolt)

Magic returns, bringing with it chaos and destruction in The Seventh Age by Rick Heinz

seventh_age_final_cover

The first in a planned series of urban fantasy novels, The Seventh Age: Dawn follows Mike Auburn as he deals with visions of the walking dead as he seeks evidence of the afterlife. He discovers a plot to bring magic back and demons and unleash them onto an unsuspecting world.

The tone is the best part right from the start – with the action set in Chicago and a darkly sardonic narrator, it’s hard not to compare it to the Dresden Files. The narrative quickly finds its own darkly comedic voice, though, as the story follows a twisted path into a dark conspiracy. Seventh Age: Dawn can be ordered at Inkshares or at Amazon now!

#Inkshares Preview #26 – The Pirates of Montana by Erin S. Evan (@PiratesofMT)

A paleontologist unearths a bizarre fossil and an ancient conspiracy in The Pirates of Montana by Erin S. Evan

The story follows Molly Wilder, an aspiring paleontologist as she discovers the remains of a winged, flesh-eating monster. Her team realizes the resemblance to myths of dragons and similar fantastical creatures. As the scientists analyze the find, they uncover a conspiracy to hide the true nature of the fossil record.

With a strong female lead character and a compelling narrative and mystery, it’s no wonder this story met the funding goals. The Pirates of Montana is in production at Inkshares now!

#Inkshares Preview #25 – Murder Happens by Dean Fearce (@deanfearce)

In Murder Happens by Dean Fearce, a psychiatrist must find the murderer hunting his patients before he is framed for the crimes.

Clipboard01murderhappens

Dr. Karl is a brilliant psychiatrist, but he has a habit of getting too involved with his patients – and he dreams about killing his wife with a hammer. This project is unique because it combines a graphic novel with a regular novel – it seems the final result will have a graphic novel that takes place within the world of the story and the novel with Dr. Karl chasing an equally twisted murderer.

I really like the idea and the dark, twisted narrative of the preview. Murder Happens is in funding – pre-order now!
